Hong Kong Art School, an educational arm of Hong Kong Arts Centre founded in 2000, is an accredited institute staffed by a group of dedicated artists and art educators who are active and distinguished practitioners in the field. The HKAS’s award-bearing curriculum focuses mainly on various disciplines of Fine Art, including Ceramics, Painting, Photography and Sculpture. Its scope covers programmes with academic levels ranging from Higher Diploma to Bachelor’s Degree collaborating with RMIT University. We are now looking for a talent to join our academic team –


Job Duties

  • Teach and assess students at all levels and supervise their project works.
  • Act as subject coordinator in development, design and delivery of modules at various levels. Support curriculum and new course development if needed. Ensure the assessments methods, learning materials and methods of delivery do meet the learning objectives.
  • Support academic head to ensure the effective day-to-day operations in academic areas.
  • Participate in accreditation and quality control processes/review and liaise with accreditation bodies as necessary.
  • Manage and maintain the Sculpture Studio and supervise the duty of Teaching Assistant.
  • Work with programme admin team to ensure efficient and effective running of programmes and modules.
  • Participate in student recruitment and retention activities/events. Play a key role in assisting students to develop and prepare themselves as a next generation artist.
  • Attend HKAS meetings and involve in activities related to teaching and quality assurance.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by superiors.

Requirements

  • A recognized master’s degree in Fine Arts and minimum 6 years of relevant teaching experience.
  • Evidence of knowledge and experience in Fine Art practice and good connections with industry and professional practice is definitely an advantage.
  • Strong and demonstrated record of accomplishment and experience in teaching which includes lesson plan development, assessment, and moderation.
  • Excellent team player with strong communication and presentation skills.
  • An inspirational teacher and collaborate well with colleagues and students.
  • Able to bring out the best in students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in both English and Chinese.
