Time-lapse Photography Workshop (Beginner) 

Time-lapse photography requires the right balance of technology, creativity, and knowledge. This course not only provides students with an in-depth understanding of the pre- and post-production processes of time-lapse photography, it also guides students’ artistic sense and unleashes their endless creativity. In-depth yet simple to grasp, it is suitable for anyone keen to explore time-lapse photography. 

Students will: 

  1. Learn to capture high-quality time-lapse videos on camera
  2. Learn to take time-lapse videos of night scenes and sunsets
  3. Use professional software LRTimelapse to post-process and create time-lapse videos

 

Students are required to bring a camera with interchangeable lenses / mobile phone, tripod, shutter release cable and memory card. For post-processing class, students are required to bring their own laptop. 

Dates and times of outdoor sections are for reference only and may change depending on the weather conditions. Students will be informed of the outdoor sections details before lesson.

Francis So (Franso) 

Renowned for filming time-lapse movies, Francis has won awards at the 2018 International Timelapse Festival and at several international film festivals. His work can be seen in collaborations with National Geographic HD Channel, Canon Hong Kong, Hong Kong Observatory, various tourist bureaus, and on television. He is also a regular contributor to different institutions, newspapers and magazines with his behind-the-lens expertise.  

Francis loves landscape photography and has visited countries such as Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Greece, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, and Taiwan to fulfil this passion. He often organises photography workshops in different countries to broaden the scope and reach of his work.
