The Wheel Deal: Friday Pottery Throwing Workshop

When you think pottery wheel, does that romantic scene from the film “Ghost” pop into your head? Pottery throwing is that beautiful, therapeutic and pleasurable. Experience the delightful art of creating everyday containers on the wheel!  

While pottery throwing may seem fast and efficient, this course is all about slowing down and savouring the joy of the creative process. You’ll learn to shape clay into striking, functional pieces at your own pace, discovering the magic in every step. Whether you are a beginner or have some experience, come unleash your creativity and find true joy in the impermanence of pottery making.   

Students are required to bring their aprons to class.

Lam Chi Kwong

Lam is incredibly experienced and knowledgeable in making and teaching the art of ceramics – he is equally adept at establishing, running and managing ceramic studios. Lam also has expertise in the history of ceramics and has been publishing his articles on relevant topics over the years.  

His works have been widely featured at different exhibitions in Hong Kong and in the Mainland. He was the winner of the Superior Prize in the 2004 Tea Ware Competition in Hong Kong and his work was selected in the Philippe Charriol Foundation Art Competition in 2002. He is currently a member of the Contemporary Ceramics Society of Hong Kong.
