Small Drone Beginner Training Course (Level 1) (Apr Class)
Take flight with this course designed for drone beginners to master the knowledge and skills of flying small drones. Combining theory and practical exercises, it will equip drone newbies with the basics for professional needs or personal interest.
The course includes an introduction to the Hong Kong Small unmanned aircraft 448G regulations, allowing participants to understand relevant laws and safety standards whilst ensuring legal and compliant flying behaviour. There will also be a selection and comparison of currently popular drones to help participants become familiar with the features of different brands and models and choose a drone that suits their needs.
Before starting, participants will learn how to configure flying applications to ensure understanding of functions and smooth operation of the drones.
In the practice section, participants will experience initial control of drones and the personal joy and challenges of flying. Latest drone models such as the DJI Mini 4 Pro and DJI Neo will be provided, so participation is hassle-free and worry-free.
Guided by experienced instructor, participants will learn and practice in a safe environment throughout the course. Mastering flying skills and enjoying the fun of aerial photography will be a breeze with step-by-step operational guidance. Participants will not only enhance their skills but also interact with other drone enthusiasts, sharing insights and expanding their horizons. For participants aged 18 and above.
Participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation to Lung Kwu Tan, Tuen Mun. Important information and schedule details will be provided prior to the lesson. Dates and times are for reference only and may change depending on weather conditions.
Tutor
Lock Chow (Lock Sir)
Currently the Creative Director at Bighead Creative Company, Lock Chow has over 20 years of professional production experience that includes aerial photography, multimedia production, and training. He has served as a guest instructor at the University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Institute of Education, and has taught drone courses for commercial organisations such as the Hong Kong Customs, Fisheries Department, Hong Kong Police School, and HK01 Media.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed drone operator with relevant experience
- Examiner for the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department’s Advanced Operation Course for Small Drones
- Holder of the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department’s Small Drone Advanced Operation Permit
- UK CDP-C Drone Pilot License
- China UTC Drone Pilot License
- China AOPA Drone Pilot License
- China ALPA Drone Pilot License
- China ASFC Remote Control Aircraft Model License
