Lingnan Painting: The Best of East and West
Embrace the spirit of revolution in Oriental arts – the Lingnan School of painting advocates blending Western painting styles with traditional Han Chinese techniques. By integrating the best of both worlds, it introduces Western influences while preserving the rich heritage of Han Chinese painting.
Lingnan artists focus on capturing the emotional essence of the living creatures they paint, rather than just aiming for realistic representations. They push the boundaries of form using bold gestures, dynamic brushwork, and vivid colours to convey the mood and emotion of their subjects.
Perfect for both beginners and returning students, this continuous course covers a range of subjects, including flowers, birds, and landscapes. You’ll learn both fundamental and advanced techniques to ensure a comprehensive understanding of this beautiful art form.
Sign up now and immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Lingnan painting!
Students will be informed of the materials needed in the first lesson.
