How to become a modern Michelangelo? Old-world techniques meet new-world ingenuity in “Oil Painting – Variations on Classical Techniques”!
Today’s oil painting techniques and methods have evolved from classical oil painting traditions, passed down and developed through the ages. In this course, you’ll learn the skills to create your own variation on the classics. To help you master these skills, the instructor will reference classical paintings and contemporary artists’ works. Through observation and analysis, combined with your own life experiences, you’ll create innovative oil paintings with a classical touch and personal flair.
Students will acquire techniques akin to traditional classical painting, including monochrome priming, thin-layered colouring, and textural treatment.

LAU Yin Yeung
LAU Yin Yeung graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (co-presented by Hong Kong Art School & RMIT University) with a major in painting.
Oil painting is Lau’s main creative medium. He likes to explore the city’s diversified environment and transforms his personal experience into art.
Lau’s works have been exhibited in various exhibitions and art fairs, including Fine Art Asia.
